Creativity and Technique

A little while ago I wrote about the importance of being creative and having skills and techniques to work with. Since then I've been exploring the Compendium of Curiosities by Tim Holtz. It's really enjoyable to work from a book that looks colourful and feels good in addition to good quality information.

That information is partly marketing of Tim Holtz products, and partly skill development and exploring ideas. It's easy to hitch-hike from the MANY project materials and develop more thoughts as I go.

I've also been enjoying the array of creative ideas on the Yahoo group called All Things Tim, and there is so much that people invent for themselves rather than buying yards, feet and inches of printed papers. I have a small supply of lovely papers, especially some of the Japanese papers that are quite beautiful, but on the whole I like to make my own.
