WOYWW No. 146

Time for desk hopping again. This is a regular Wednesday habit for quite a few folk and it starts over at the Delectable Dunnit Domicile. Click here for a visit and join in if you're inclined.

A small neat birthday card this week. It's for a family member who has been living interstate for quite a time and has just returned. The teapot seems to say "This is home. Where the heart is the teapot follows".

The desk this week - too soon after holidays to be crowded.
The design was a fairly simple idea but I took some time to experiment with contrast and colour matches. I also began using clear embossing as a resist technique which worked well with the Christmas cards, however not with the teapot. For the final result, teapot is black embossed with Judikins fine detail black and coloured with Twinkling H2O water colours.

The mount is black gloss card with a border of Great Tape which is much like Judikins Trio tape or double-sided tape for vellum. It holds a sprinkling of glass micro beads in pink and green to match the teapot. I'm a little disappointed with the colour rendition in the photo below as the green water colour has come out quite muddy.

Home is where the teapot is.
All the best for the week - I hope to visit as many Wednesday posts as possible.
Ros.

Hello Ros, you're early for us here in the UK, it's still Tuesday here, actually just after 8.30pm. Love your card and I agree that it does suggest home and the home comfort of a nice cup of tea. I hope you have a lovely WOYWW and wish you a good week ahead. Elizabeth x (no number yet)

Gosh Ros, I sure like that tea pot and cups. Those microbeads are awesome. I've never had any, so never used them. But I DO love the Twinkling H2Os you have there. Happy WOYWW from # 7.

Hi Ros,
Love that teapot stamp! And you can't go wrong with H20s, can you? They're always a favourite of mine. I see you have been busy (travelling). We did a trip along the Great Ocean Road (all the way to SA) some years ago. It is spectacular and must be one of the best coast trips in Australia. I think your little coloured drawing is gorgeous. How do you like those Inktense pencils? So far, I have resisted buying them. (If I did, it would only be on a whim, not because I even remotely need them!)

It's true it's true..I'mnot a great tea drinker but I totally agree with the sentiment and I love the card..such pretty colour choices. Now be honest, does your desk or imediate floor feel like a roller rink from escaped micro beads? No? Just me then!

Hi Ros,

I do love this card! Doesn't pink and just the right green go so well together. The microbeads are interesting; I've never used them.

I do love your garden helper and the office manager! hee hee I have two dogs and a bird that keep me on the straight and narrow!

Happy WOYWW

I love your teapot and its twinkling bits, really pretty. I am so slow getting round today, mainly because I have an urgent card to do which is really hard as it is a sympathy card for a good friend. Thank you for your lovely comments about our new stamp. I have a feeling that you will see a lot of work with that stamp over the next few weeks.

Hello Ros, my apologies for being so late visiting you this week. I'm new to WOYWW and it's quite a task for me to visit everyone.
I adore having a cuppa and I think teapots are so cute, so loved your card.
Hey, I'm here in Victoria too :D

Thanks for letting me take a peek at your workdesk. I really enjoyed my visit.

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog about the Birthday card I made for my Mum's 80th! She loved it. It was a fiddle with my RA but I got there in the end. Crafting keeps my hands moving, its when I stop doing I worry! Very late getting around desks this week, life's got in the way again. Great work with the micro beads. wonderfully creative project!
