WOYWW No 173. The Parlour Pussicat.

I bought a couple of cats stamps from my paper arts shop. They are Memory Box cats and I was playing with the alley cat stamp in a recent post. This one of the Parlour Puss seemed to need wall paper so I started with a marbled background stamp with DI pinks and aged mahogony at the edges.

The cat stamp is heat embossed with fine detail black and then lamp light is blended in with mustard seed, using a mask. The lamp and table are painted with Twinkling H2O colours and I embellished with punched tiny flowers and a corner punch for a more ornate matt.

Design notes and stuff. See the freesias and bluebells at the back on the left?

Here's the Parlour Puss ready to go. I like using Darkroom Door string sentiments stamps.

Hope you like the finished product. Sorry I missed out last week but life was sooooo busy that I neglected my visitors and followers. Thank you for your lovely messages the week before. Still not an idle moment, but doing more of what makes me happy this week.

If you're wondering why I would publish a desk photo, there's a funny little crowd of us who log into Julia's
Stamping Ground and then visit all the other Wednesday desks. Hop over and have a peek.

Have a great week everyone.
Ros.

Hi Ros, I like your cat card. I've got some great cat stamps too. Can't remember the brand, but will look them up if you are interested. And you can't go wrong with H2Os in my opinion.
Every time I see those string sentiments used I think I must have a go at doing them freehand :)

Thanks for your kind comments. I just used el cheapo (Mont Martre) Texture Paste with Tattered Angels stencils. (I do like the effect.) Oh, and then I usually spray with Glimmermist. (But some of the nozzles are clogging up which is rather annoying.)

What a fab card - a great way to use the stamp (which I think is adorable) and I love the border you have done.
thanks for visiting me and for your suggestions but I haven't time to write Mr M a letter but I think I will go and talk to him in my craft room and follow your suggestions that way - can only help, surely.

What a lovely stamp, it's made a stunning card. Reminds me of our puss, She'd be sat on the table though eyeing up everything that is going on.

I'm a Memory Box fan too, love their new release for Halloween and Christmas this year. Clever stamping, love the background you created, and I love the Spring flowers on your post below this one. Camping in the rain doesn't bother me too much, especially with Winter on the way when we'll be inside for what seems like months! SO I'd rather camp in the rain than not camp at all!!

Your csrd is really beautiful and you have so much stuff on your desk - I am thinking of buying twinkling H20s but they are hard to get hold of in Europe!
Lots of hugs,

Oooh! I love the parlour puss on your lovely card.
I've never thought of growing my own mushrooms so what a great idea... I love them in any form.
The gold treasure was 7th century, Anglo Saxon so quite ancient but why it was buried and why there is so much is still being investigated, it's a real mystery. I'm so pleased it was funded to remain in England where it was found and where it originated too.

Love seeing the process that lead to your terrific finished piece and the bluebells/fushias remind me of a distant spring. Ah well, only 6 months to wait!!! Hope life calms down for you soon. Hugs, Buttons #70

I am back! You know me too well! The door will never be completed.....I started it six months ago.
The cats in your art are very refined...my cat sits in boxes like your Dixie...no refinements there then.
:)
Wish I had a cedar cottage, I bet you do miss it.

very nice card! I have two cats and seeing the card makes me think of Skitty cause everytime she thinks she is doing something she shouldn't she looks back over her shoulder to see if I am watching. Love the pink! Thanks for visiting. Vickie #87
